Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa Planning Approval

We are delighted to announce that, as at 30 July 2007, the Cape Verde Promotional Investment Agency (CI) has approved the Tortuga Beach Resort & Spa project.

Speaking on behalf of the CI, Victor Fidalgo (President) said:

"Cape Verde, the CI and I personally welcome the investment and the facilities that Tortuga Beach will bring to Cape Verde in general and Sal Island in particular. I have been working closely with the owners of the project and, together with the architects, we have agreed a number of enhancements that will increase the touristic appeal of the resort and match our vision for the future. The CI is very pleased to grant approval."

As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and excellence, we can confirm that the approved project now boasts the following additional features:

Lower build density to improve the visual aesthetics and green areas
Luxury 30 room hotel
Second communal pool added
Additional communal shower facilities added around the site
Upgraded commercial facilities to include:
- 150 seat restaurant
- New wine bar (in addition to the Piano Bar)
- Additional courtesy and lounge areas
- Shops
- Luxury Spa plus Gymnasium designed and enhanced
- Entrance to the hotel / resort expanded and enhanced
